Nova software – suitable for different needs
Access control has never been easier. All parts of the FlexAir® access control system are managed through the Nova software. The Nova software is administrated through a browser, which makes it possible to access the software from any computer that is connected to a network. Every time someone opens a door, or attempts to do so, it is noted in the Nova software event log, where it is also possible to view a particular individual’s activity in the building.
The software also offers a quick overview of all opened and closed doors within the system as well as the possibility to open/lock the doors directly through the software. The Nova software is available in different versions, from small and simple systems to more complex server-based solutions.
NovaSimpli

NovaSimpli is a software package that offers basic access control functions. This is the standard Nova software version on all Alpha centrals. NovaSimpli has specifically been developed for smaller buildings and offices with few doors and few users. NovaSimpli is ideal for smaller buildings e.g. shops, garages, service stations as well as residential buildings with few apartments. NovaSimpli can operate up to 4 online doors and 50 users (card/tag/pin code). No time limits are possible. In other words, the system takes care of the most basic needs within access control systems.

NovaSimpli can easily be upgraded free of charge to be able to operate up to 350 users (card/tag/pin code). However, this means that no events are logged in the system, and that it is only possible to see the events ”live” in the software as they are happening in that moment. In other words, there is no history stored in the system for future use. This version is ideal for very simple systems, where the main purpose is to control access to the building, but where it is not relevant to track events in the system later. No time limits are possible.
Nova10
100 users
10 online and offline readers
This solution is ideal for small to medium sized buildings. Nova10 can operate up to 10 online/offline doors and 100 users (card/tag/pin code). Nova10 also offers a range of extra features, such as toggle function, timetables and automatic opening of doors, which gives the opportunity for the doors to remain open during a desired time-period without the requirement of a card/tag/pin code in order to open the doors.
Nova100

100 online and offline doors
Nova100 offers the same kind of solutions as Nova10, but it can serve up to 1,500 users (card/tag/pin code) and up to 100 online/offline doors. The Nova100 also contains a toogle function, timetables and automatic door opening. This is why the Nova100 is a more suitable solution for medium to large buildings.
NovaServer

NovaServer is the biggest software level. It is used for systems, where there are so many users and administrators that the installation of a server is required in order to obtain fast and smooth operation. The NovaServer software must be installed on a Linux server, which needs to be connected to the centrals of the system. As a standard the NovaServer software is delivered with 500 online/offline doors and 5.000 users (card/tag/pin code), but it can serve up to 25.000 doors and 100.000 users.This software version is suitable for large international companies or corporations with many intern and extern doors and a large group of employees using the system on a daily basis.

…The Nova software can be upgraded whenever needed
In the text below, you can read more about the different Nova versions available. It is easy to upgrade the current version to a larger version when it is needed. It is therefore not necessary to discard the hardware already purchased if needing an upgrade. The different versions all come with two administrators – one system administrator and an ordinary administrator. It is however easy to buy more administrators when it is needed.
Secure Backup
With the Nova software, there is no risk of losing information or data as the program automatically stores all events. Furthermore, the Nova software will automatically copy data between the centrals in the system. There is a complete copy of the access control database on each Alpha central with all the details on access rights, users, events, etc. This means that there is no need for a separate backup. In case of a breakdown or a malfunction, it is easy and quick to recover data and functions. However, if there is only one Alpha central in the system, it would be advisable to do a separate backup.
